Baby Sign Language

We are planning on teaching the baby some basic sign language.

We have seen friends teach their children to sign and it is amazing! Some basic signs are really all that is needed to communicate effectively with the youngster.

This is a good primer here for some more information.

That's awesome.
We do sign with Eva (although I am really not totally consistent...I really need to work on that) and I can't wait until she does her first sign.

I actually did a graduate research project on baby signs while working on my master's degree, and (as an interpreter) it was kind of expected that I would use signs with my own kids - of course! Why wouldn't I? :) We signed with Liam from day 1 and he used his first sign, "more", at 4 months. I could go on and on, but I am obviously a HUGE fan of sign - for everyone, not just babies - and will definitely use sign with Liam's new brother... maybe we can get the boys together for a signing playdate someday?? ;)
